Shadow Complex [Online Game Code] - Review

Shadow Complex is a "Metroidvania" game. You play as an average "Joe Sixpack", Jason Fleming,. At the start of the game, you begin after his girlfriend, Claire, who is kidnapped after mistakenly wandering into a top-secret compound while the two of you're spelunking. From there, Jason enters the compound to rescue his girlfriend.

Simply put, you start off extremely weak exploring a large map. Over time, you slowly become more powerful and unlock powers that allow you to get access to areas that you could not have otherwise accessed earlier in the game.

Constructed using Unreal Engine 3 technology, Shadow Complex looks fantastic, from the wooded surface areas to the rippling water found in underground reservoirs. Enemy rag-doll effects, fluid dynamics, and explosive physics are all on full display, and blasting a guy off a ledge so he falls screaming to his death never ceases to amuse. Each area of the base is sufficiently varied and brilliantly paired with an admirable soundtrack.

Overall, Shadow Complex is an excellent current-generation take on a classic gaming genre which is focusing on the core themes of exploration and high-intensity combat while treating you to lush graphics and multiplane complexity . It's the sort of game that you can come back to again and again. This game is a must own, pure and simple. Highly Recommended!
